This historic image depicts what had been a number of former Malaria Control in War Areas (MCWA) field station buildings in Newton, Georgia. The Office of National Defense Malaria Control Activities, established by the offices of the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS), February 10, 1942, was renamed the Office of Malaria Control in War Areas, MCWA, April 27, 1942.
