This historic image from 1978, depicted a scene on the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Roybal Campus, which shows what had been the basement door in the former Building-7. On the door was a sign announcing that caution need be taken upon entering the facility, due to the presence of the smallpox virus inside the controlled environment. The universal biohazard symbol was displayed on this cautionary sign.
