This photograph shows a close right lateral view of a child’s head with multiple cutaneous lesions consistent with kerion, a form of tinea capitis, attributed to infection with the fungal organism Trichophyton mentagrophytes. Note the lesions on the right cheek, temporal scalp, and posterior neck.
