This historic image depicts Dr. Alexander A. Smorodintsev (left) being interviewed at the Communicable Disease Center (CDC) on closed-circuit television on March 9, 1964. A renowned Russian virologist, Dr. Smorodintsev’s interview was featured in a CDC broadcast production entitled “TV-811 – Current Status of Live Virus Vaccine Development in the Soviet Union.” The interviewer was not identified.
