Captured in 1978, this historic photograph shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Special Pathogens Branch scientist Dr. Michael P. Kiley using a laboratory intercom to communicate with personnel outside the cabinet laboratory located within the Maximum Containment Laboratory. At the time, Kiley was assigned to the Viral Diseases Division, Center for Infectious Diseases.
