Captured in 1978, this historic photograph shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer Adolfo Correa, MD, a member of the EIS Class of 1978. After completing the EIS program, Dr. Correa returned to CDC, where he served as a medical epidemiologist in the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD). He later became Director and Principal Investigator of the Jackson Heart Study at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Later in his public health career, Dr. Correa earned his MPH in 1981, and his PhD in 1987.
