Captured on March 13, 1963, this historic photograph shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) arbovirus serologist Louise A. Rigdon performing Fulton-Dumbell complement fixation tests for the diagnosis of an unspecified arbovirus infection. At the time, Ms. Rigdon was a staff member of the CDC’s Virology Section, Arbovirus Laboratory Unit.
