Captured on March 13, 1963, this historic photograph shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) scientist Dr. Francis T. Forrester preparing samples for ultracentrifugation as one step in the preparation of arbovirus antigens. Dr. Forrester was a member of the CDC’s Virology Section, Arbovirus Laboratory Unit.
