Captured in 1978, this historic photograph shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer Thad L. Woodard, MD, a member of the EIS Class of 1978. During his EIS service, Dr. Woodard was assigned to the Alaska Division of Public Health, where he worked as a medical epidemiologist. Following his EIS service, he remained in Alaska and continued his career as a pediatrician in Anchorage, with particular interests in allergy and asthma, while maintaining an active involvement in public health and health education.
