Captured in 1978, this historic photograph shows Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer Mark W. Kehrberg, MD, a member of the EIS Class of 1978. During his EIS service, Dr. Kehrberg was assigned to the Utah State Department of Health, where he served as Acting State Epidemiologist and participated in epidemiologic investigations, including studies of toxic shock syndrome. He later continued his career in pediatrics and held leadership positions in healthcare administration.
