This 1975 portrait depicted physician and epidemiologist Edward A. Brann, MD, an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officer with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Dr. Brann continued his career at CDC, contributing to epidemiologic research on cancer and other public health conditions. His later work included studies of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Hodgkin disease, and occupational and environmental risk factors for cancer.
