This historic photograph, captured on July 1, 1964, provides a westward view of construction underway at the Communicable Disease Center (CDC) headquarters campus on Clifton Road in Atlanta, Georgia. The photograph focuses on the northeastern corner of Building 1 and the construction of Addition B, which would provide additional office space for CDC personnel. Excavation has exposed the underlying rock, while concrete foundation walls, extensive formwork, reinforcing steel, and scaffolding document the addition taking shape adjacent to the existing building.
