Captured in December 1960, this historic image depicts the interior of the Auditorium on what is now the Roybal Campus of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), then known as the Communicable Disease Center. A meeting was in progress, with attendees seated at tables and watching two television monitors displaying a broadcast produced on the campus. The broadcast was a CDC television pilot project, although its subject matter was not identified.
