Caption:
This image depicts a Petri dish culture plate containing a selective growth medium of phenylethyl alcohol (PEA) agar, which had been inoculated with the bacteria, Escherichia coli, Fusobacterium mortiferum, Proteus vulgaris, and Clostridium perfringens. The growth of the E. coli and P. vulgaris, were, indeed, inhibited by the PEA medium, over the 48-hour incubation period.
