This photograph depicts Gail Stennies, MD, (standing Cntr) in Koupela, Burkina Faso in Western Africa. As part of the "Rapid Assessment of Malaria in Pregnancy" project, in 2001, Dr. Stennies, was deployed to Burkina Faso, in order to supervise local physicians, as they learned to implement a rapid diagnostic test for malaria.
