This historic 1976 photograph was captured in the streets of Chimaltenango, Guatemala after a devastating earthquake struck the region. The city of Chimaltenango is located northwest of Antigua, Guatemala. This deadly earthquake, which registered 7.5 on the Richter scale, killed over 23,000 and left over a million people homeless.
