Caption:
A foundry furnace at the William Powell Valve Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, circa 1950-1963, that is equipped with a Kirk & Blum Manufacturing Co. ventilation unit. However, the ventilation unit is not turned on in this photo, so dusts, fumes and smoke from the furnace are not captured by the unit but are released into the indoor atmosphere of the foundry building.
