This 1975 negative-stained transmission electron microscopic (TEM) image revealed some of the morphologic differences seen between two pigeonpox virions. On the left, one sees the virion in its mulberry, or M form, while the virion depicted at right shows morphology indicative of the organism’s capsular, or C form.
