This 1981 photograph depicted a glass dropper bottle containing Dobell’s iodine solution. Created by mixing potassium iodide, iodine and distilled water, Dobell’s iodine is sometimes used in the processing of fecal specimen microscopy slides, especially when determining the possible presence of parasitic cysts in the sample.
