Transmission electron microscopic image of spherical Sin Nombre virus particles shows a distinct viral envelope with short surface projections, and the internal nucleocapsid. A species of the genus Hantavirus, the Sin Nombre virus is the cause of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) in humans.
