This historic image created in 1964, depicted laboratory technician, Dorothy Roland, at work in one of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) laboratories. Ms. Roland was in the process of recording data captured by an AutoAnalyzer machine, while seated at her workbench. Though this image was captured years ago, much of the same laboratory paraphernalia, and many of the practices seen here, are still carried out today, in more modern laboratory settings.
