This 1963 image depicted a left lateral view of a young Maprik, Papua New Guinea woman, whose skin displayed pathologic changes indicative of the mycotic infection, tinea imbricata, also known as Tokelau, a fungal infection of the superficial layers of skin, caused by the fungal organism, Trichophyton concentricum.
