Captured in 2011, this transmission electron microscopic (TEM) image depicts some of the ultrastructural details displayed by H3N2 Influenza virions, responsible for causing illness in Indiana and Pennsylvania in 2011. See PHIL 13469, for the diagrammatic representation of how this Swine Flu stain came to be, through the “reassortment” of two different Influenza viruses.
