Set atop a wooden cutting board inside a home kitchen, this scored chocolate bar had been broken along its score lines into three distinct pieces. Known for its high content of phenolic antioxidants, as well as flavonoids, catechin, epicatechin, and procyanidins, cocoa has been linked to improved health by imparting neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory mechanisms, lowering blood cholesterol and sugar levels, reducing the incidence of various forms of cancer, and improving overall cardiovascular health.
