Caption:
This 1974 photograph was taken at a Northern India elementary school. The scene depicts a number of schoolchildren sitting of the school’s front porch. However, you will note the darkly stained line along the wall of the porch, which was due to the children resting their heads at this level while attending classes, day after day, leaving this long-standing, oily stain. The image was captured during a trip made by Centers for Disease Control (CDC) personnel, while on an expedition to capture monkeys native to the Northern Indian region.
