This field scientist was in the process of collecting various mosquitoes, by sucking them into a modified syringe that had been inserted into a collection canister. In this way, collected specimens would be transported back to the laboratory, whereupon, a concentrated analysis would be performed, which would enable the scientist to categorize the various arthropodal species he had captured.
