Caption:
This young male patient displayed a condition known as meatal stenosis, which is a stricture of the urethra at the point at which it exits the glans penis. Note the presence of swelling, and what appears to be inflammation around the periphery of the meatus. Meatal stenosis obstructs the normal flow of urine as it exits the urethra, misdirecting the urine flow, and can be caused by irritation, an inflammatory reaction to a circumcision, the presence of a neoplastic condition both malignant and benign which obstructs the meatus, or an infection causing swelling and urinary blockage at the meatus.
