This 1975 image depicts a right lateral view of a young child’s head and shoulder revealing some of the external signs of a disease associated with an autosomal recessive genetic disorder known as congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma. The infant also exhibited signs of another genetic disorder known as achondroplasia, which results in dwarfism.
