Caption:
This photograph depicts a poster within a poster. The hanging poster showed a young Chinese woman, standing before a large poster that dealt with the topic of schistosomiasis, also known as, bilharziasis. Using a hand-held wooden pointer, she was shown pointing to a photograph on the poster depicting an emaciated young woman. Beneath the poster, on the wall to which it was affixed, were the words both in Chinese, and English, ““She” was me”, indicating that after having survived schistosomiasis, the now robust young woman was once the emaciated girl.
