This historic image taken in Louisiana, depicts what was a World War II poster announcing that, “PENICILLIN CURES GONORRHEA, THE GREAT CRIPPLER and STERILIZER in FOUR HOURS; IF YOU SUSPECT YOU HAVE GONORRHEA… SEE YOUR DOCTOR OF CLINIC TODAY… THEY HAVE FREE PENICILLIN FOR YOUR TREATMENT”. The poster also revealed the parties responsible for its content as, Dr. David E. Brown, Pres. La. State Board of Health, and Dr. John M. Whitney, Supt., City Health Department.
