Caption:
This infant was photographed in a clinical setting, due to complications associated with his genetic disorder known as Hurler’s syndrome. Viewed from this right lateral perspective, you’ll note the flattened, depressed nasal bridge, compact, shortened torso, along with overall small stature, a protruding abdomen, and an umbilical herniation. For some of the histopathologic features seen in Hurler’s syndrome, see PHIL 16245 and 17716, for pertinent micrographs.
