This photomicrograph of a hematoxylin-eosin (H&E)-stained tissue sample, extracted from an early-staged granuloma inguinale lesion. The view revealed some of the cytopathology exhibited by this lesion, also referred to as Donovanosis, caused by the bacterium, Klebsiella granulomatis, formerly known as Calymmatobacterium granulomatis.
