This female patient in Papua New Guinea, presented with a case of systemically disseminated granuloma inguinale, also known as Donovanosis, which had manifested as a number of cutaneous lesions, exhibiting the classic raw meat, erythematous tissue, which had been caused by the Gram-negative bacterium, Klebsiella granulomatis, formerly known as Calymmatobacterium granulomatis, and even earlier Donovania granulomatis. Note the presence of a lesion on the dorsal surface of her left index finger, a lesion over her right medial malleolus, i.e., ankle, and a lesion on the dorsal surface of her left foot, involving the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th toes.
