This close colposcopic view, revealed the appearance of what was a normal cervix. Note the transition zone at the margins of the external cervical os, which demarcated the point at which the cervical epithelium changes from a smooth, pink, squamous epithelium of the exocervix, to the glandular, darker-red epithelium. lining the endocervical canal.
