This is a photomicrograph of a human tissue section extracted from an infant at the region of the rib cage described as the corner of a rib, revealing late-stage histopathologic changes indicative of a case of infantile scurvy. Note the disorganized appearance of the proliferative zone, and poor boney mineralization within the primary spongiosum.
