Caption:
This image depicts a close view of a patient’s skin, revealing the presence of numerous maculopapular eruptions that had been caused by a case of chickenpox, due to the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), also known as Human herpesvirus 3 (HHV-3). Note the erythematous halo that surrounds the pustular eruptions, indicative of a characteristic chickenpox rash.
