Wearing a white shirt, this image depicted Zimbabwean Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) resident, Dr. Pugie Chimberengwa, and school health master, Mrs. Hilda Manyengavana (pink dress), speaking before a group of school children, in order to educate pupils, teachers and members of the community about schistosomiasis, during a Culture Day held at the school. This event was actually a follow-up activity to the initial schistosomiasis mass drug administration (MDA) exercise, and was used to dose those students missed during that initial dosing of the anthelmintic medication, praziquantel (PZQ). Lessons covered the importance of avoiding contact with infested bodies of water, boiling drinking water, and the appropriate use of toilets for human waste disposal. The picture was taken at Kwite Primary School, in the Mangwe district, located in the South province of Matebeleland, Zimbabwe, on July 6, 2012.
