This is a photomicrograph of a small bowel tissue sample, which had been extracted from a patient’s jejunum, who was ill with an acute case of cholera. Histopathologic findings exhibited here, included an intact mucosal epithelium, an acute inflammatory response, and findings indicative of this patient’s malabsorption symptoms.
