Caption:
The left side of this Nigerian woman’s neck, or cervical region, exhibited a malformation known as a keloid, a scar composed primarily of an overgrowth of granulation tissue at the site of a previous injury. See PHIL 20279, for a left lateral view of this patient’s condition, but from a later time period, which showed a progressive enlargement of the keloidal tissue.
