Caption:
This photomicrograph depicted numerous, characteristically globose-shaped, primary conidia, which had been produced by the fungal organism, Conidiobolus coronatus, formerly known as Entomophthora coronata. Note that some of the conidia had separated from their respective conidiophores, and each bore the papilla that had connected them to their site of germination. You can also see numbers of newly-forming conidia, as they were in the process of budding from their respective conidiophore.
