This is a photomicrograph of a liver tissue specimen that had been harvested from a patient admitted to a clinical setting with a case of malnutrition, and revealed a generalized fatty infiltration, leading to a diagnosis of nutritional liver disease. This illness can occur in poorly nourished alcoholics.
