This historic 1955 image, depicted a laboratorian testing what was referred to as a space-spray machine, used to disperse a cloud of insecticide into an environment, when attempting to control insect populations, including mosquitoes and flies. This scenario took place inside the United States Public Health Service (USPHS), Communicable Disease Center (CDC), Field Station insectary, located in Savannah, Georgia.
