The picture was staged, in what was the lobby of the United States Public Health Service (USPHS), Communicable Disease Center (CDC), Field Station, located in Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Ferguson specialized in the study of the parasitic disease known as schistosomiasis, also known as bilharzia.
