This historic image, depicted the United States Public Health Service (USPHS), Communicable Disease Center (CDC), Field Station, located in Wenatchee, Washington. The sign, posted outside this structure, indicated that this location was under the auspices of the former U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare (HEW). The facility acted as a Toxicology Laboratory, which specialized in the toxicologic effects associated with pesticide usage.
