During the 2014-2016 Ebola epidemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) deployed Border Health Teams to Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. CDC teams relied on drivers to get them safely through congested traffic, Ebola checkpoints, and across rutted dirt roads. This image depicted driver, Momoh Sillah, posed at his car window, who took excellent care of every CDC Sierra Leone Border Health Team. He drove staff to the airport, seaport, and land borders, for more than one year, starting August 2014. The teams were most grateful to him, for all his efforts, and caring. Captured by CDC staffer, Rebecca Myers, this picture was an entry in the 2016 CDC Connects, Public Health in Action Photo Contest, in the categories of Programs-International and People–International.
