Under a magnification of 500X, this photomicrograph revealed the findings exhibited in a cell culture specimen, infected with the cytomegalovirus, including both early cytopathic effect (ECE), involving the rounding of infected human fibroblasts, and late cytopathic effect (LCE), manifested as granular intracytoplasmic, and intranuclear inclusion bodies within the infected fibroblasts.
