This image depicted a dorsal view of a female Amblyomma sp. tick, highlighting the fact that it’s scutum only partially covered its dorsal abdomen, an that the organism possessed four pairs of jointed legs, placing it in the class of Arachnida. Some species of Amblyomma tick, act as vectors for the disease Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF).
