This photomicrograph depicted a dorsal view of a saddleback caterpillar, Sibine stimulea, as it was wandering along the leafy branch common to its natural habitat. This caterpillar is actually a developmental stage, or instar, through which this organism passes, on its way to becoming a full-fledged moth.
