Viewed from the front, this image shows a Petri dish culture plate containing Sabouraud dextrose agar inoculated with the fungal organism Basidiobolus ranarum. The colony is large and diffusely spreading, with a finely granular to velvety surface and dark brown pigmentation, with lighter radial zones.
