This image depicts two test tubes containing heart infusion broth growth medium, each inoculated with Burkholderia pseudomallei (formerly Pseudomonas pseudomallei). From left to right, the tubes were incubated for 2 and 3 days at 37°C. Note the increased frothiness on the broth surface in the right tube and the more diffuse interface between the surface bacterial growth and the medium.
